What you'll do

Three hours, hands-on. We build a small working back end together.

See what a server actually does when an app asks it for something.

Build a simple API - a couple of endpoints that return real data.

Store and read data from a database, and understand why it's shaped that way.

Connect it up and watch the whole request-response loop work end to end.

What you leave with

A small working API you built yourself.
A real mental model of APIs, databases and the request-response cycle.

Who teaches it

Tim - a full stack developer with over ten years of experience. He freelances at ASML now; before that he built software for Philips Healthcare, Accenture and Vinci Energies, and for clients like Schiphol and Damen. He taught software development at Fontys for two years, which is where he found how much he likes getting people from zero to something that actually works.
